摘要

Submerged-arc welding has been a standard process in use in many industries since the early part of the 20th century. Its attributes-safety, productivity and quality-are very well known within welding circles. The submerged-arc process involves feeding a continuous solid or tubular wire into the arc. The wire carries current that melts the wire and the base metal. Protection for the arc is provided by a granular flux that is melted during the welding process. Primary advantages of this process are as follows: 1. The arc is shielded; because it's not visible, no welding helmet is required to perform the process. 2. The arc produces virtually no fume or spatter. 3. The penetration of the process is excellent. 4. The weld quality is excellent. 5.Deposition rates are very high.
