摘要

A review is made of the family Mimosaceae [Fabaceae] in the flora of Guinea. A total of 54 species belonging to 22 genera are known to occur in this area. Of these, 45 species are native and 9 are introduced. Of the 25 forest species of this family,19 are trees and 6 are lianas. The savanna species of the Mimosaceae comprise 16 trees and 2 lianas. One species, Neptunia oleracea, is aquatic and another, Mimosa pigra, grows on wet river banks, while 2 species, Mimosa pudica and M. invisa, are associated with ruderal sites. Keys for genera and species of the Mimosaceae in Guinea are provided and distribution of each species in this country is described in detail. In addition, the general distribution and ecology of each species are discussed.
