Exotic agaves and other succulents are loved by garde ners and designers alike for their sculptural and dynamic qualities, which make them a fabulous focal point in any garden. They need no pruning and little watering, so are simple to look after, Aslong as you provide ideal growing conditions - very well-drained soil, fuil sun and protection from the cold, oreferably bringing them indoors over winter - they should thrive. They're often called century plants, as they were thought to live for 100 years (though in fact a few decades is usually much nearer the truth), after which they flower, set seed and die.
