South Korea, more specifically Gyeongju, known as the museum without walls, welcomed the cream of the world-wide cast metals industry to the 65~(th) World Foundry Congress during October 2002. Some 260 international delegates joined the 300 South Koreans attending the 65~(th) World Foundry Congress at the Bosum Lake Resort in the beautiful and historic region of Gyeongju. Famed for its Shilla Dynasty historic monuments, temples and palaces this rural area of South Korea was an idyllic setting for the meeting of so many nations with one common aim-to share enriched knowledge and technical innovation on the cast metals industry.
