It is now well accepted that an association between cancer and oxidative stress exists and a proven role for oxidative stress in the development and progression of prostate cancer has been shown through epidemiological, clinical and experimental studies (Khan-drika et al., 2009). Reactive oxygen species (ROS) have also been shown to play a role in endothelial activation, inflammation, cell growth, apoptosis and angiogenesis (Navarra et al., 2006). The role of endogenous ROS, in addition to exogenous ROS, are very important for inducing tumour growth and angiogenesis (Xia et a!., 2007).
