The Mining & Exploration Division (M&E) has initiated two trial programs to further integrate student members into the society. The first program has created new positions for student members within the division's Executive Committee structure. Undergraduate and graduate student representatives will be appointed to make recommendations to the M&E division Executive Committee concerning student member affairs. The following graduate students were appointed as student representatives to the M&E division for the 2003-04 term: Tarun Dangi, the University of Arizona; Ann Hartingh, Michigan Technological University and Mark Kwesi Danso-Atta, Western University College in Ghana. The division is still looking for undergraduate student representatives.
