Editor's Note: A delegation of steel metal-casters visited metalcasting facilities in China in October 2006. The delegation visited seven facilities centered around four cities and met with the China Foundry Association. Their impressions of the Chinese metalcasting industry from that visit are presented here. China has a long history of casting metal - more than 3,500 years. As a country, it is making great strides in volume, quality and complexity. Any casting producer needs to understand the emerging place of China and plan accordingly.
