摘要

Viktor Abramovich Kovda was always interested in the fate of trace elements in soils. The monograph "Trace Elements in the Soils of the Soviet Union" [1], which he published in co-authorship with I. V. Yakushevskaya and A. N. Tyuryukanov in 1959, wasone of the first publications in our country generalizing the literature and experimental data on the distribution of trace elements in soils and the effect of different factors on this process. For long years, Kovda has been the manager of interdepartment research "Trace Elements in the Nature and Their Role in the National Economy," in which scientists from three Departments (Biological, Soil Science, and Geographical) of Moscow State University were involved.
