摘要

This study aims to investigate and clarify the effects of roadside trees and moving automobileson outdoor airflow distribution, turbulent diffusion of air pollutants and thermal environmentwithin street canyons. The detailed field measurements were carried out in the summer of 2006,at two streets in the central part of Sendai city, Japan, with different densities of roadside trees.The microclimate and NO_x concentrations as well as traffic volume were measured. The effectsof the density of roadside trees and the complex interactions of roadside trees were investigatedby comparing the results measured at these two streets. The results clearly showed that thermalenvironment has been improved but NO_x concentration also increased simultaneously due to theeffects of roadside trees.
