摘要

Aroma [Acacia famesiana (L.) Wilde] is a shrub or small tree that grows from 2 to 4 m high. It has sharp spines, 0.5-2 cm long, and zigzagging lenticillate branches (Science Education Center, 1971). Introduced by the Spaniards, it is now found throughout the Philippines in open grasslands and thickets at low and medium altitudes. It occurs in regions having a long dry season (Quisumbtng, 1978). It is a source of France's well-known cassia perfume. The bark and pods are used as dye stuff and for tanning. The trunk and branches, on the other hand, are utilized for fuel (Science Education Center, 1971).
