The two-grid and four-grid combination methods, based on the Soni-linear and Soni-Hermite transfinite interpolation formulas, are developed to generate two-dimensional grid systems in regions with prescribed grid distributions along all of the boundaries. For the true-grid system, two initial grids stemming from opposite boundaries are generated separately and then combined to give the final grid distribution. For the four-grid combination method four initial grid systems are generated separately from each boundary. Numerical experiments show that the present algebraic method is slightly better than the Soni linear interpolation. In the cases with Hermite interpolation, the present method significantly improves the applicability of the original Hermite transfinite interpolation method. Because there are few differences between the results of the two-grid and four-grid systems, the former method is recommended to generate grid systems in relatively simple domains. [References: 14]
