A system was developed that rapidly electrolyzes ablock steel sample, continuously introduces the resultantelectrolyte into the apparatus of radiofrequency inductivelycoupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP-AES), andquantitatively determines the trace elements in the sample. Theanalytical time per sample is about 60s, and the analytical accuracyis approximately the same as that of the conventional manual ICP-AES method.
