This paper describes an image analysis proceduredeveloped to characterize the morphology of MPCVD diamonddeposits in the early stage of the deposition process. Variousparameters were measured on scanning microscopy images, usingalgorithms based either on individual analysis of isolated particlesor on a two-dimensional boolean model. As the second procedurejust requires to perform global measurements, it has the advantageto remain efficient even for large covering ratios (substrate surfacecovered by diamond).
