When Tri Nguyen's mother. Lieu Ho, visited from Vietnam five years ago, she was disappointed with the Vietnamese culinary offerings of Westminster, the heart of the Vietnamese populace in Southern California. She was especially disappointed with the versions of Ca Nuong, baked fish, that is a popular delicacy. Ho, the family matriarch, told her son he could do better with has restaurant in Rosemead and ggave him her secret recipe. Now, Vietnamese flock from Westminster out to Nguyen's V&L restaurantin Rosemead for Ho's signature baked fish.
