Horticulture New Zealand will be involved in the development of an industry strategy over the next year, with the help of consultants. It will receive assistance from New Zealand Trade and Enterprise. Chief executive Peter Silcock, reporting to the HortNZ annual general meeting, said the strategy would be "robust and comprehensive" and underpin the strategy to expand the horticulture industry to a 10 billion dollar in exports and local market sales by 2020.
