A global market shortage appears to be fuelling stronger inquiry than ever before for New Zealand pipfruit as the 2013 season approaches, Fern Ridge Produce managing director Hamish Davis says. Low stocks in Europe and supply problems for other Southern Hemisphere producers are leading to a high level of inquiry for New Zealand fruit. "We are still in the process of working out where to set the price, and which markets will give the best returns for growers."
