Their four new drillships are Viking, Valliant, Venturer and Voyager and the first three of their four XL Enhanced rigs are Intrepid, Interceptor, Integrator -but there's one set of initials that they all have in common, PET. PET, Performance Enhancement Training, is a new concept designed for crews in a cooperation between Implement Consulting Group, Maersk Drilling and Maersk Training. The pilot course rolled out in September 2013 with the drillship Maersk Viking, and it continued for 20 months through the entire training process for seven full crews, the two shifts being trained back-to-back. It is another V and I, very intense. It is also a totally embracive process with entire crews put into real life situations and under the type of pressure it is hoped they never face in their actual working role.
