The ocean is highly dynamic,with systems that interact and feed back in complex ways that are not well under stood.These interactions and feedbacks occur at various scales and frequencies that are hard to capture with tradi tional expeditionary sampling.Furthermore,expeditionary sampling is also an ineffective way to capture environmental events that are a critical characteristic of the dynamic ocean.
