摘要

Labelling is a means to introduce a product for sale by providing comprehensive information about the product to the target consumer market besides ensuring safety standards of the regulatory body. Useful elaborated information about the label createsa good impression on the consumers seeking required details about the product. Food Labelling serves as a primary link between the manufacturer or packer of food and the consumers. It is through the process of labelling that the manufacturer of the foodproduct gives detailed information regarding the product to the user. As per Food Laws every packaged food article has to be labelled in accordance to the law applicable in the country of the user. For domestic use every packaged food article has to belabelled as per Food Safety and Standards (Packaging and Labelling) Regulations, 2011,notified by Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). The packaged food for export has to be labelled as per food laws and regulations applicable to the importing country.
