摘要

There are certain criteria that need to be fulfilled for cecidologists to have a good weekend - namely good planning, good weather, good company, and good sites. This year we had all of these in abundance. Alan Rix, who had 'volunteered' to organise this year's event, planned and delivered an excellent itinerary and we had that perfect combination of warm, dry, and still days that greatly facilitate the search for galls. There was no hesitation in getting down on hands and knees to find those often neglected 'close-to-the-ground' galls and, having found them, conditions were spot-on for taking those valued photographs. All of this was wrapped up in the splendid fellowship which has always been a feature of our weekends and supported by bespoke lunches freshly prepared at each of the field venues. There was little else that we could have asked for.
