EPA has approved a one-year registration for methyl iodide under highly restrictive provisions governing its use,despite concerns conveyed in a Sept.24 letter from a group of 54 scientists,the agency announced Oct.5.EPA had originally been expected to approve the registration Sept.28 and it appeared that the letter - sent to EPA Administrator Stephen Johnson - might be having an effect.
