Borealis last week announced plans to reorganize its Bamble,Norway,production "within the framework of lean manufacturing" in order to further increase its European asset competitiveness and the profitability of the plant.The company is also considering phasing out its Norwegian research and development activities,while focusing on,and accelerating,its innovation capability in Austria,Finland and Sweden,as well as at the planned Borouge innovation center in Abu Dhabi (PCN,18 Sept 06,p 3).
