Wood anatomy of Rumex hastatus has been investigated to compare the anatomical features of stem and root wood. Vessels are wider and their frequency is lower in roots compared to stems. Similarly, fibres and fibre tracheids of root wood are longer andwider as compared to those of stem wood, and ray parenchyma is more extensive in root wood compared to stem wood.
