We have measured the field and angular dependencies of critical current density and resistive broadening of a textured Bi sub(1.84)Pb sub(0.4)Sr sub(2)Ca sub(2)Cu sub(3)O sub(y) thick film in applied magnetic field up to 0.3 T, respectively. The field dependence of critical current density at 77 K follows a power law, J sub(c) proportional to H super(-n), with n identical with 0.49 for H parallel ab and 0.62 for H parallel c. The field dependence of characteristic temperature T* determined by different criteria is consistent with `irreversibility line', H(1-T*(H)/T*(0)) super(-3/2). The angular dependence of critical current density at 77 K and magnetic field H identical with 0.1 T can be scaled by effective mass model, J sub(c) proportional to (H(cos super(2) theta / gamma super(2)+sin super(2) theta )) super(-n) with gamma identical with 10 and n identical with 0.49. The angular dependence of characteristic temperature T* can also be fitted by effective mass model to `irreversibility line', T* proportional to (H(cos super(2) theta / gamma super(2)+sin super(2) theta )) super(2/3) with gamma identical with 10, indicating that 3D character in the polycrystalline Bi2223/Ag tape may be correlated with the average misalignment angle of grains. The transport measurements are in good agreement with the `brick wall' model.
