This report describes improved calibration and data reduction techniques for large-signal microwave S-parameter measurements. Data acquisition and reduction is accomplished by use of the Sandia PDP-10 time sharing computer in conjunction with the S-parameter test set. Elimination of systematic errors that are not eliminated by usual calibration methods is accomplished by means of improved calibration and data reduction techniques. Microwave S-parameters in the 10 MHz to 1 GHz frequency range can be measured with an accuracy of ± 0.01 in magnitude and ± 1° in angle with this system at power levels up to 50W.
