The method involves assigning number of 2 dimensional (2D) X-ray images to two subgroups. A 3 dimensional (3D) or 2D image data set is derived from the 2D X-ray images. A value for a correlation of image set and/or for noise comprised in the image set is derived by using the image set. A 3-dimensional reconstruction is generated by utilizing the value for correcting noise-related effects, where one of the subgroup contains 2D X-ray images, which are received in positions of a data processing device with which the 2D X-ray image is received from other subgroup. An independent claim is also included for an X-ray imaging system with an X-ray detector.
