Particle filter diagnosing system for combustion engine, has memory storing comparison of number stored in meter to critical number for generating dilapidation signal, when number attains or exceeds critical number
The system has a meter (28) storing, in a memory (29), number of times where temperature measured by temperature probes (23, 24) attains or exceeds a threshold value e.g. critical temperature. The memory stores comparison of the number to a threshold value e.g. critical number for generating a dilapidation signal, when the number attains or exceeds the critical number, where the dilapidation signal indicates that a particle filter should be changed. An independent claim is also included for a method for diagnosing a particle filter of an exhaust line of an internal combustion engine.
