Determining autoantibodies (AAb) against oxidized low-density lipoprotein (oxLDL) in physiological fluids with simultaneous subtraction of interfering antibodies directed against native LDL or other lipids or phospholipids with similar properties, is new. Determining autoantibodies (AAb) against oxidized low-density lipoprotein (oxLDL) in physiological fluids with simultaneous subtraction of interfering antibodies directed against native LDL or other lipids or phospholipids with similar properties. First oxLDL is fixed, covalently or by adsorption, to the surface of a carrier, while native LDL (or other (phospho)lipid) is fixed similarly to a geometrically complementary carrier. The two carriers are simultaneously contacted with test fluid, e.g. serum, and then detection made by standard immunological methods, preferably by optical, electrochemical or fluorimetric measurement. Independent claims are also included for: (1) test kit for detecting AAb; and (2) microtiter plate coated with oxLDL and a complementary pin cover coated with native LDL.
