ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREA horizontal flow-through apparatus for two-phasecountercurrent chromatography consisting of a horizontalmulti-layer helically coiled column carried on a flangedreel which is rotated about its own axis and simultaneouslyrevolved around a stationary central parallel horizontalpipe at the same angular velocity and in the same directionto prevent twisting of its inlet and outlet flow tubes,which extend through the stationary central pipe. Themulti-layer array can retain a large volume of thestationary phase against a high flow rate of the mobilephase, enabling the separation of the sample components tobe completed in a relatively short period of time.
