The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a novel method for assessing inflammatory conditions of animals in the family Felidae; and a novel method for determining a therapeutic effect on inflammation of animals in the family Felidae. The present invention provides a method that is for assessing inflammatory conditions of animals in the family Felidae and that comprises a step for measuring the concentrations of lipids and/or metabolites thereof in urine of animals in the family Felidae. The present invention also provides a method that is for determining a therapeutic effect on inflammation of animals in the family Felidae and that comprises a step for measuring the concentrations of lipids and/or metabolites thereof in urine of animals in the family Felidae.
