In this paper, the impact of atmospheric turbulence is investigated and analyzed for the Free Space Optical Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (FSO MANET) using the Network Simulator NS-3. The FSO channel random intensity fluctuations have been modeled using the Exponentiated Weibull (EW) distribution. Further, the FSO module has been implemented and integrated with NS3 using the FSO propagation model and the FSO error models. The computation of the key performance indicators (KPI) mainly the throughput and the packet delivery ratio (PDR) shows that the network density affects the network performance. Its effect was illustrated for the different turbulence regimes, strong and weak. It is found that the throughput and PDR values decrease as the number of mobile nodes becomes larger. For instance, at 150 kbps and in the presence of strong turbulence with 25, 50, and 75 nodes, the PDRs are 77%, 76%, and 73% respectively. Moreover, the throughput and PDR values in the strong turbulence regime are lower than those in the weak turbulence regime for the same date rate. The throughput in the strong turbulence regime with 75 mobile nodes at the data rate 150 kbps is 2100 kbps while it is 2300 kbps in the weak turbulence mode at the same rate.

讨论了FSO通信系统链路最优束散角问题.由空间光通信链路方程得出,减小束散角会增大通信链路裕量.在未对准误差情况下,深入分析偏移角、束散角与链路裕量之间的关系;假设未对准损耗是链路裕量的唯一影响因素的条件下,通过推导得出最大偏移角表达式,当未对准(偏移)角度取得最大值时对应的便是最优束散角.由仿真分析可知,偏移角度的增大导致系统接收光功率减小;对于该系统光束束散角处于1.6 mrad时便是最优束散角.该部分内容研究为对星地的上行和下行通信链路功率计算提供了理论支撑.

LT码是一种无码率的线性分组码,具有很强的信道适应性和低复杂度.文中提出一种CRC码与LT码级联的编码方案(CRC-LT码),CRC-LT码通过调整译码开销来保证FSO系统的可通率和使LT码在FSO系统中获得的编码增益.通过建立分析模型,推导出在给定信道条件下的数据恢复率.最后,利用Gamma-Gamma信道模型进行CRC-LT码的编译码过程仿真,并给出数据恢复率与信道条件、信噪比和译码开销的关系,以及FSO系统的误码率.仿真结果表明,CRC-LT码在牺牲一定译码开销后能够获得更高的编码增益,有效保证FSO系统的可通率.

Free space optical communication (FSO) proves to be very effective and efficient technology for wireless communication. This work basically deals with the designing of FSO systems. Further, a comparative study has been made to ascertain which modulation technique proves better for communication. This paper investigates the performance of ASK and PSK modulation based FSO system by varying different FSO parameters under several conditions including haze, rain, mist and fog. Finally, simulation results are analysed and discussed.

由于自由空间光通信(FSO)受到大气湍流效应的影响,运用信道编码技术来保证FSO系统的稳定性.研究LT码原理,并将其引入FSO系统.分析LT码度分布需要满足的条件,引用泊松鲁棒孤子度分布来减小LT码译码开销、降低编译码复杂度,并应用于FSO系统来提高FSO系统性能.采用MATLAB进行仿真,比较泊松鲁棒孤子度分布与鲁棒孤子度分布的性能,并模拟在不同湍流信道中的FSO系统误码率.结果表明,泊松鲁棒孤子度分布具有较小的平均度值,能够减小LT的译码开销、降低编译码复杂度;且应用泊松鲁棒孤子度分布的LT码能够降低FSO系统中的误码率,保证FSO系统稳定.%As free space optical communication (FSO) is affected by the atmospheric turbulence,the channel coding technique is used to ensure the stability of FSO system.The principle of LT code was studied,and LT code was introduced to the FSO system.The required conditions of the LT code distribution were analyzed,the Poisson robust soliton degree distribution(PRSD) was used to reduce the decoding cost of LT codes and reduce the complexity of coding and decoding,and it is applied to FSO system to improve the performance of FSO system.The performances of PRSD and RSD were compared,and the bit error rate of FSO system in different turbulence channels was simulated by MATLAB.The results show that PRSD has a smaller average degree,and can reduce the decoding cost,the encoding and decoding complexity of LT code.The LT code using PRSD can reduce the bit error rate in FSO system,so it improves the stability of FSO system.
