Today the applications of biotechnology as an important tool in agriculture is increasing, compared with the traditional method, genetically modified technology has a lot of advantages, it also provided many benefits to farmers and consumers and solved a lot of social issues. But a kind of reliable detection method for Genetically Modified Foods ( GM foods) safety still not be found, the GM foods safety are not completely known by people yet, the problem of GM foods safety is still a problem badly in need of solution. This paper summarized the advantages, disadvantages and food safety evaluation of GM foods.
