With technological advancement now as a global movement and research in the Early Childhood Development area still in the infancy period, Zimbabwe adopted an ICT policy and has recently rolled out a new education curriculum in which there is an ICT syllabus for ECD learners. Thus this study sought to establish the state of the new ICT curriculum at ECD level in primary schools in Mutoko district of Mashonaland east province of Zimbabwe. A case study research design was employed. The cluster sample was made up of participants in the education milieu. It was from this education milieu that data were collected through interviews, questionnaires, focus group discussion, document analysis and participant observation. The major study findings were that there was a limited understanding of ICT at ECD level by facilitators, ICT competencies were lacking in both implementation and integration and ICT resources in the institutions studied were scarce. Recommendations centered on the provision of in-service training of teachers and equipping schools with relevant ICT tools.
