摘要

The purpose of this study was to determine the extent to which the use of technology and Web-based communications from schools could contribute to student academic success. Conclusions were based on the collection of student grades over a five year period, surveys to parents and students, and parent and student interviews. The study showed a 26.3% -- 49.2% improvement in the reduction of student failures at each marking term, 80% agreement with the belief that a Web-based system positively impacted student grades, and an 87% increased parent satisfaction rate with communication from the school. A recommendation for future study would be to examine methods for increasing teacher accountability with regard to updating grades and assignments in a Web-based student information system.
