A1.5-y-oldfemaleDjungarianhamster(Phodopussungorus)presentedwithalargesubcutaneousmasssurroundingtherightshoulder.Radiographyrevealeddislocationoftherighthumeralarticulationandosteolyticlesionsoftherightscapula.Histologically,themasswascomposedofspindletostellatecellsarrangedinfasciclesinterwovenwithdelicatecollagenfibers,andneoplasticcellsinfiltratedthebone,skeletalmuscle,andsubcutaneoustissues.NeoplasticcellsstainedintenselypositiveforvimentinandnegativeforS100protein,neurofilament,anddesmin.Aminorityofneoplasticcells(10%to20%)stainedmoderatelyforsmoothmuscleactin.Themasswasdiagnosedasafibrosarcoma.Althoughfibrosarcomasarerelativelycommonindogsandcats,thisisthefirstreportoffibrosarcomainadomesticDjungarianhamster.
