摘要

EMC is primarily about limiting the amount of available EM energy capable of causing interference. If all else fails, the ability to absorb and convert into heat some of this energy is a very useful tool. Absorbers have been used extensively in EMC related applications for a long time e.g. in anechoic rooms. More recently, advances in technology have facilitated the design of thin, efficient absorbers based on metamaterials, frequency selective surfaces, etc. It has also been possible to go beyond mere absorption and tailor surfaces to exhibit customised absorption and scattering properties.
