As the General Election approaches, major political parties in the UK have started manoeuvring around the sensitive subject of the defence budget with serious concern mounting that the country could fail to meet NATO's minimum expenditure threshold requirement. At the NATO Summit in Wales last September, UK PM David Cameron signed an agreement to maintain that UK defence spending would remain at the 2% of GDP target, as dictated by the organisation.
