In the 1980s, Transmo - a medium-sized shipping company - was going through some difficult times. It had several shipping containers laying in its shipyard, that as capital assets, were rusting in the sea air and costing Nico Mouthaan (the founder and CEO) a large some of money each day. However, he saw beyond their normal use and envisioned a special products business that could transform these contaqiners into other products and uses. Today, Transmo Special Products division re-uses older containers, repairs and recertifies them and turns those once unusable containers into a purpose built solution.
