A company called Alabuga-fiber LLC plans to build a plant for the production of carbon fibre in Tatarstan, a republic of Russia. The proposed plant will eventually have two lines, with a total capacity of 1.5 kt a year, and will be located in the Special Economic Industrial Zone (SEZ) known as Alabuga, in the Elabuga District of the republic. The plant, which will create 250 jobs, will be developed in two phases: the first production line will cost about 2.5 billion rubles (around €60 million) and will be followed by the second, at an additional cost of approximately 1.7 billion rubles.
