WHILE the Fourth Community Pharmacy Agreement was signed in November 2005, there were a number of key issues still to be resolved. A series of reviews were formally listed in the Agreement, committing the Pharmacy Guild of Australia and the Government to address them. The Guild's Health Economics Division is responsible for undertaking these reviews.The timeframe for reporting on these issues has now been set, ensuring that 2007 will be yet another big year for pharmacy. This is in addition to the PBS Reform package entering the difficult process of being implemented into legislation, to which significant Guild resources will go into ensuring that the final legislation reflects the agreement reached with Government.The reviews will be overseen by the Guild and the Department of Health and Ageing as part of the work of the Agreement Consultative Committee (AGC).The following is a brief outline of each review in chronological order.
