Another spring has blossomed here in Tucson, and with it another Flavors of the Desert has come and gone. Held on April 28th this year, the annual gala welcomed Native Seeds/SEARCH members, supporters, volunteers, and friends new and old for a celebration of our work. Among the nearly 200 guests in attendance, one word kept arising to describe the evening: magical.Though we'd love to take all the credit for this high praise, it was the exquisite setting of Tohono Chul Park that real-ly set the stage. For those that were unable to make it, imagine a warm desert evening under a canopy of mesquites and the gentle scent of cactus blooms in the air, as guests mingled amidst a lush menagerie of desert plant life. In ambiance alone, it was quite a special night.
