In an electric vehicle (EV), the maximum cruising range is adversely affected by electric power consumption of auxiliary electric components such as heating and cooling. Hyundai works on a special heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) control system that significantly increases the cruising range of electric vehicles by air-conditioning only the occupied seats within the vehicle.
