摘要

A hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) is one of the most promising alternatives to a conventional engine-powered vehicle, which satisfies increasing customer's requirements. However, how much the hybrid vehicle is better than the conventional one depends heavily on its powertrain control strategy. The aim of the paper is to convert the internal combustion engine (ICE) to a split HEV with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), in which, the practical configuration of power train for a split hybrid electric is introduced. This is based on the analysis of the operation modes, which can operate the engine, generator and motor within its highly efficient range as much as possible and keep battery state of charge (SOC) at a reasonable level. A CVT is a transmission that can change steplessly through an infinite number of effective gear ratios. The performance of a CVT for an HEV was investigated, on the basis of theoretical simulation and practical road test in the chassis dynamometer.
