ISO and representatives of the automotive industry in the United States and Europe have successfully completed a project to develop ISO 9000 requirements for the sector."It represents an important milestone in the standardization of fundamental quality system requirements in the global automotive industry," commented Mr. R. Dan Reid, of General Motors, a member of the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) which jointly developed the harmonized requirements in collaboration with ISO/TC 176, the ISO technical committee responsible for ISO 9000.
