An analysis of the molecular composition of the alkanes in the bottom sediments from the southern part of Dvinskii Bay collected during cruise 1 of R/V Akvanavt-2 in October 2001 indicated the following regularities in the hydrocarbon(HC)behavior in the region studied:the domination of high-molecular C_(23)-C_(45)n-alkanes in the HC composition and irregular distribution of HC in the bottom sediments due to the high sedimentation rates and active hydrodynamics of the area under consideration.
