Aircraft`s e.g. military transport airplane, piloting assisting method for use in military field, involves determining current flight phase of aircraft, and determining current value of parameter of aircraft
The method involves determining current flight phase of an aircraft. Current altitude of the aircraft is determined. A current value of a particular parameter e.g. flight-path angle, of the aircraft is determined. A reference height corresponding to a height of a characteristic symbol (9) in a display window (3) is determined based on the current flight phase, current altitude and the current value of the particular parameter. A reference altitude corresponding to an altitude of a lowest point of a vertical section (10) is displayed. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for assisting in the piloting of an aircraft in free flight (2) an aircraft.
