    • 摘要: The critical analysis examines the concept of value in C.S.Peirce’s philosophical writings,distinguishing between value as(1)worth,(2)meaning,(3)significance,(4)semiotic value,(5)in the mathematical sense,(6)money value,and(7)value by other names.The focus is on value in the sense of Peirce’s three normative sciences aesthetics,ethics,and logic.The values associated with them are detailed in their phenomenological contexts and with respect to a supreme value,the summum bonum.Peirce’s objections against utilitarian conceptions of value in the philosophy of his century and his conception of scientific research as a value in itself are the author’s final topic.

    • 摘要: Welding operation of metals, gives rise to high temperature that results in melting of mating parts. The final composition of the joints formed in terms of its microstructure and properties at the fusion zone depends greatly on the degree of dilution of the weld. With an expert prediction technique, it may be possible to predict even before weld, the integrity of weld joint from the proposed process parameter. The aim of this study is to predict the percentage dilution (%D) of TIG mild steel welds using fuzzy logic. In this study, the weld specimen was produced using the TIG welding process guided by the central composite experimental design and thereafter percentage dilution (%D) was measured and fed to the fuzzy logic software. The process parameters include the voltage, current, gas flow rate and welding speed. The results obtained showed that the fuzzy logic tool is a good predictive tool and the model developed has proven to be very efficient in handling works of this nature, thereby saving time, energy and money wasted in pre-welding procedures. It would be encouraging to compare other quality parameters with process parameters to see how it can further help in quality improvement.

    • 摘要: Predicting weld responses is a very important but difficult area in the field of welding which can greatly reduce the overall cost of try and error method for any fabrication industry. Fuzzy logic expert tool was used to predict the weld penetration size factor of a weld. The aim of this study is to predict the weld penetration size factor (WPSF) of TIG mild steel welds using fuzzy logic. In this study, the weld specimens were produced using the TIG welding process guided by the central composite experimental design, and thereafter the weld penetration size factor (WPSF) was measured. The process parameters include the voltage, current, gas flow rate and welding speed. The model’s significance, strength and adequacy were checked;for fuzzy logic, fuzzification was done using fuzzy linguistic variable, fuzzy linguistic terms and membership function after which an inference was made based on a set of rules and the output result was defuzzified to a crisp output. Fuzzy logic predicted beyond the boundaries of the given range of parameters. The model developed has proven to be very effective in predicting responses even before actual weld is initiated.

    • 摘要: Effi cient tools capable of using uncertain data to produce fast and approximate results are more practical in rapid decision-making applications when compared to conventional methods. From this point of view, this study introduces a risk assessment model for one-story precast industrial buildings by fuzzy logic which builds a bridge between uncertainty and precision. The input, output and relations of the fuzzy based risk assessment model (FBRAM) were determined by reference buildings. The Monte Carlo simulation method was used to handle uncertainties associated with the structural characteristics of the reference buildings. Section dimension, longitudinal reinforcement ratio, column height related to building elevation, confi nement ratio and seismic hazard are regarded as input and the plastic demand ratio is considered as the output parameter by the mathematical formulation of strength and deformation capacity of the buildings. The supervised learning method was used to determine the membership function of fuzzy sets. Fuzzy rules of FBRAM were constructed from Monte Carlo simulation by mapping of inputs and output. FBRAM was evaluated by a group of simulated buildings and two existing precast industrial buildings. Comparisons have shown signifi cant agreement with analytical model results in both cases. Consequently, it is anticipated that the proposed model can be used for the seismic risk mitigation of precast buildings.

    • 摘要: Fuzzy logic is an approach which deals with the incomplete information to handle the imperfect knowledge. In the present research paper we have proposed a new approach that can handle the imperfect knowledge, in a broader way that we will consider the unfavourable case also as the intuitionistic fuzzy logic does. The mediative fuzzy logic is an extensive approach of intuitionistic fuzzy logic, which provides a solution, when there is a contradiction in the expert knowledge for favourable as well as unfavourable cases. The purpose of the present paper is to design a mediative fuzzy inference system based Sugeno-TSK model for the diagnosis of heart disease. Our proposed method is the extension of Sugeno-TSK fuzzy logic controller in the form of Sugeno-TSK mediative fuzzy logic controller.

    • 摘要: This paper mainly investigated the value of the rainwater by introducing a “Logic of Encounter” that is a new logic beyond the logos and lemma through the metaphors which compare the real rainwater to one’s life. A consideration regarding sustainable rainwater resource utilization has been described and the main results are summarized in the paper.

    • 摘要: A fuzzy logic compensator is designed for feedback linearizable nonlinear systems with deadzone nonlinearity. The classification property of fuzzy logic systems makes them a natural candidate for the rejection of errors induced by the deadzone, which has regions in which it behaves differently. A tuning algorithm is given for the fuzzy logic parameters, so that the deadzone compensation scheme becomes adaptive, guaranteeing small tracking errors and bounded parameter estimates. Formal nonlinear stability proofs are given to show that the tracking error is small. The fuzzy logic deadzone compensator is simulated on a one-link robot system to show its efficacy.

    • 摘要: 本文通过TPS系统的简介,详细叙述了聚乙烯工艺控制指标在TPS系统的实现过程。由计算机实时地统计出工艺指标的偏离情况弥补人工统计的缺陷,保证统计结果的真实有效。本文通过对DCS系统的功能开发,巧妙地将累积模块的输入变量固化为1,以秒为计时单位,将累积模块改编成了一个庞大而且功能丰富的计时器,考虑到物料平衡和各种因素,利用合理的逻辑,完成工艺指标的合格率和偏离次数的实时动态统计。
