Japan's AHS project has selected seven services based on analyses of traffic accidents, and ispromoting research and development aimed at realization of these services starting in 2003.Of these seven services, the authors developed algorithms for realizing the three services forpreventing: (1) crossing collision accidents, (2) right turn collision accidents and (3) collisionaccidents with pedestrians crossing streets, which occur inside intersections. The validity ofthese algorithms was also verified through vehicle tests.
