This paper investigates a new p-adaptive scheme based on nodal enrichment technique.rnThe method requires an extra set of polynomials to enrich the classical u0002niternelement shape functions via their well-known partition-of-unity property. The adaptivernprocedure, which is node-by-node basis, is driven by residual-type error of therndisplacement at a point. The capability of the new p-adaptive technique is investigatedrnin linear elasticity.
