Generally, there are large number of people suffer from cognitive impairment, including impairment of learning, memory andattention.1 However, the exact mechanisms for cognitive dysfunction have remained unclear, oxidative stress and neuroinflammation may be in part, responsible for memory and learningimpairment.2 In particular, the elderly people are most susceptibleto cognitive impairment that may result from infection,3 in addition, the process of aging itself is associated with neuroinflammation involving production of proinflammtory cytokines andmicroglial activation.4 Also, neuroinflammation occurs in otherconditions that may lead to pathological changes in the brain aspostoperative dysfunction, ischemic stroke, Alzheimer disease(AD), multiple sclerosis or Parkinson disease.5 In some animalmodels, exposure to bacterial endotoxins, or viral coat proteins,will stimulate immune system resulting in memory and learningdeficits.
